Jan Smith is the Director of the International Programs at Austin Community College. She serves on the Executive Committee of the North American Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Texas A&M University Center for International Business Studies. She served as the President of the Greater Austin International Coalition, Chair of the International Partnership of Greater Austin, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Austin Mexico Trade Center. The Mayor of Austin honored her with “Jan Smith Day” in 2003 due to her contributions to international initiatives in central Texas. She is the key architect of three funded Department of Education Business and International Education grants.
Her career in education started as Associate Professor of Accounting, during which Ms. Smith won several teaching awards. Prior to teaching, she worked as an auditor and as a small business owner. She has a BA and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and holds a CPA license. |
